2020 U.S EMBASSY MISSION IN KAKUMA REFUGEE CAMP

Kakuma and Kalobeyei  Refugee community representatives had a meeting with delegates from the US Embassy on 5th February 2020 at Field post 4. This team purposely came for 2020 out reach program for Resettlement Support Center (RSC Africa) and to share the presidential  determination of the US president H.E *Donald* J. Trump on the number of refugees to be resettled to America this year. Globally only *18000* refugees are to be resettled to america 2020. 2019 : there were *668* departures from Kenya who were resettled to the United States of America They declared that no new submission of refugee cases from UNHCR to US embassy for resettlement this year. USRAP already has a pipeline of *27141* individuals under their refugee admission program. Delay in cases due to lack of arrival assurance from the  USCIS which are the officials to determine the refugee resettlement cases thus, the process is expected to take longer than as usual.
